Hey Crafty People, it’s Tasha here with your Saturday inspiration! Sorry I’m a little later today, I have been playing in my craft room with the GORGEOUS new to me inks from Catherine Pooler! We now have the Zen Garden minis on sale and this week I have a swatch with me video, along with a quick, and easy card design using these new minis and a brand new stamp set too.
Let’s get to it!
Swatch with me
I always swatch out all my inks; it is a great way to get to know the ink & colour, and it makes choosing ink combos to work with so much easier!
I cut these tags using my Cameo 4, because I can cut loads in one go, which is handy when you wanna swatch ALL the things! 😉
Creating a simple card with my new inks
Once I had started ink blending with these beauties, I just couldn’t stop! I grabbed an a2 panel of Neenah 80lb, my blending brushes and got to creating a full panel!
I did intend to use all of the inks but I just ran out of space, so I ended missing out Sugared Lavender. If I had thought about it a little more, I would have skipped Spruce, just because there is quite a large band of Green and Green/Blue and I’m missing that pop of purple.
I was trying to blend this without moving it, all for the Reels (haha,) so I didn’t get the best blend I would usually achieve. I knew this wouldn’t be a problem though, as the stamping would cover it easily.
New stamp excitement!
I just got the Just Soar stamp set from Catherine’s latest release and I absolutely HAD to use those gorgeous sentiments and Butterflies right away! Plus a dark black Butterfly silhouette can cover a multitude of ink blending issues! 😉
I stamped the largest Butterfly, the Soar sentiment and I ’embellished’ it with three of the tiny Butterflies from the stamp set, all with Midnight ink.
This is as close to one layer cardmaking as I get tend to get, certainly when I am ink blending etc because I never seem to be able to keep the back of whatever I’m blending onto ink free.
So I just used wet glue to stick the panel straight onto an a2 card base made from Neenah 110lb.
You can check out a super fun reels video that I have done for this card over on Instagram!
I will be back at the same time next week for more inspiration!
Stay Crafty!!!
Byeee!
