No-line floral colouring & Stretch your dies with video by Jeni

Hi, I love no-line colouring with floral stamps and the Beautiful Day Floral stamp set by Catherine Pooler Designs is perfect for so many occasions. I stretch a slimline cover plate die to fit a standard A2 sized card. Watch the video tutorial below or on YouTube and read on for the written tutorial.

Written Tutorial

First, I ink blend with Juniper Mist, Daydream and Stone Blue inks to make a background with the darkest colour off centre – where the flower will go.

I diecut the On The Rocks slimline die twice from white card. From one I cut the edge border from one long side. Next, I lay one over the other so the pattern matches and make pencil marks along the edge I’ve cut off, then trim along this pencil line.

I show how to alter a regular or slimline cover plate die to fit a different card size in the video tutorials here and here.

The colouring is similar to this card. I use the same colours – Pucker Up and Be Mine for the petals. Catching Rays and Tiki Torch for the middles, and In The Park and Grass Skirt for the leaves.

I stamp onto Bristol vellum card with Be Mine ink, stamped onto scrap card first for a lighter stamped image. The colouring is with Catherine Pooler inks and a blender pen.

The sentiment is on a thin stripe of white card, stamping with Juniper Mist ink, with a thin strip of Juniper Mist inked card beneath. Both strips are die cut from the Stitched Strips slimline die by Trinity Stamps. I adhere both with Easy Squeeze Crystal Clear liquid glue.

I foam mount the Beautiful Day Floral image and extra leaves over the darkest area of ink blending.  Finally, I adhere five Boiled Sugar embellishments by Trinity Stamps and mount to an A2 sized card base.
