Wake Up Window Flower Box Card w/ Video

posted in: Blog, Janet 0

Hi, I have three cards for this tutorial. My first card using the Boxes of Blooms and Outside Your Window is also a video tutorial.  You can watch the video tutorial on YouTube.  There are two bonus cards using the same products below the tutorial for the Wake Up Feeling Blessed card.

Window-Box-1

MAKING THE SHUTTERS

I adhered two pieces of black and white striped card back to back then diecut the Outside Your Window coordinating die twice.  This die cuts one line down the middle and two score lines at the ends for you to be able to open the window shutters.  I made sure these crease marks were nice and sharp by folding them back and reinforcing the score mark.

Window-Box-2

STAMPING

The Boxes of Blooms stamp set have two different flowers with separate leaf stamps.  And two flower boxes. I stamped the flowers in Orange Peel ink and the leaves in Sage ink.  The flower box is All That Jazz ink. Then diecut with the coordinating dies.

FINISHING THE CARD

I trimmed a piece of white card to 20cm high and 21cm long, scored at the 10.5cm mark to make a side folding card base.  I adhered the window frame to the centre with strong scor tape – not the flaps – just the outer edges.

Then adhered the flowers – one in each window and the flower box.  I stamped the sentiment from the Outside Your Window stamp set in Black Jack ink.

BONUS CARDS

As promised in my video tutorial I have two quick and easy cards using the same products.

Cream Card

  • On the cream card, I stamped two flowers in Lemongrass and the leaves in Sage.
  • The flower pot is stamped in Daydream ink.
  • The wood effect shutters with the heart are stamped directly onto the card with Icing On The Cake ink.
  • The sentiment is also in Icing On The Cake.
  • The front flowers are popped up with foam tape.

White Card

  • On the white card, I stamp the flowers in Sangria, and the leaves in Sage.
  • The flower pot is Lemongrass.
  • I stamp the shutters with Twilight ink.
  • The front flowers are popped up with foam tape.
  • I did not add a sentiment to this card to be able to use it as an everyday card.
