Hey-Hey Crafty People! This week I’ve got a super simple Christmas card idea, using Cozy Christmas Wishes from Pinkfresh Studios. I’m trying hard to build up my stash of Christmas cards because, despite what I promised myself, I haven’t actually got many done so far!!
Stamping
This set includes this really large main image and a few small additional leaves etc, I only used the one large image for this card. I inked it up with some alcohol marker friendly black ink. Then stamped it 3 times to get a really solid, dark black image. This does mean that you need to leave it a good while to make sure it is completely dry before you add colour, or you risk smearing those lines and potentially even ruining your marker tips. I actually stamped mine with the intention of leaving it overnight before colouring it.
Colouring
I grabbed two different green, 3 marker blends to colour in the leaves and 2 red markers to colour the berries. I added two shades of brown to the cute little bird.
This is some super quick & easy colouring, you could even just colour the little images with a single colour if you aren’t into blending. So it would be a great card design for mass production!
Diecutting
I used some deckled edge dies to cut my coloured panel down and then I cut a kraft cardbase, using a larger deckled edge die to do a partial die cut of the cardbase.
This means that I purposely placed my die onto the folded card base so that the edge was not over the folded edge, and therefore wouldn’t cut it. This gave me a roughly 4.25 x 5.5 inch cardbase with three deckled edges.
Finishing the card
I popped the panel up on foam adhesive onto the card base and I finished it with some Nuvo Crystal Glaze on the berries.
As always, I want to say thank you for spending this time with me and I will be back at the same time next week with some more papercraft inspiration. ?
