Rainbow Danglies Birthday card by Tasha

Hey crafty people! It’s Tasha here, with my weekly dose of inspiration and this week I’m back with another Rainbow Birthday card idea!

I was looking at the different designs included in Catherine Pooler’s So Much Possibilities stamp set and the largest row of diamonds took me back to a window decoration we used to have when I was a child. It was these rows of different coloured plastic ‘crystals’ that hung down to different lengths. I knew that I had to make a card based on that memory.
Isn’t it funny how inspiration strikes sometimes?

Repeat Stamping

I positioned my stamp inside my stamping tool so that I would be stamping the middle of my dangling crystals first. That way I knew that my Rainbow would be equally spaced across the whole panel.

I added my yellow ink to half of the row and then used a microfiber cloth to dab at the edges of the ink. So that I wouldn’t have a really harsh line where my colours met, then stamped it down. Next, I added green ink to the other side, following the same steps before stamping that down too.

I carried on, moving through greens to blues then purple, always softening the edge of the ink on my stamp before actually stamping it down, and moving my panel left to right between each new row.

Then I turned my card panel round and repositioned it so that I could work up from yellow to red.

I absolutely LOVE how this Rainbow look turned out. But I decided to add some embossing to the centres of every other line to add a metallic pop! I chose a marbling embossing powder from my stash, using the row of Sparkle Pops that fit nicely inside.

Embossed Sentiment

I also embossed the Happy Birthday sentiment from the same stamp set onto some Vellum.ย  Which I trimmed down and added to my card panel with teeny tiny dots of glue so that it would be hidden behind the letters.

I trimmed my panel and foam mounted it onto an A2 card base made from my favourite 110lb Neenah.

As always, I want to say thank you for spending this time with me and I will be back at the same time next week with some more papercraft inspiration. ?
