Sometimes a stamp is so pretty it can take centre stage. But what about the background? You want to add a background but at the same time, you don’t want it to detract from the focal image. A great way to create a background is to add a textured background with simple stamping. You don’t need anything fancy, just a stamp and some ink. So let’s get started!
Creating a textured background with simple stamping:
For this card, removed your foam pad from your MISTI stamping platform and place the Catherine Pooler Painted Stripe background inside. Next, ink up the stamp with Catherine Pooler Coral Cabana Ink and stamp this off onto a piece of scrap paper.
Without inking the stamp up again, add a piece of white cardstock into your MISTI and restamp the background. This will give you a faded and at times patchy background stamped image creating the textured background with simple stamping.
Creating the rest of the card:
Stamp the Peace, Love & Holly Catherine Pooler garland onto a piece of white card with Memento Tuxedo Black ink. Next, use Copic markers to colour the image in. The colours used in this card are R59, R29, R17, G29, G28, G07, G05
Once coloured, use the coordinating die to cut the image out and foam mount onto the front. Next, die-cut the Catherine Pooler Happy Holidays die out of Rose Mirror cardstock as well as a piece of white fun foam. Layer the die-cut ontop of one another and add to the front of the card. lastly, finish the card off with red sequins.
