Hi, I have a Fun Forest slimline card using the new Catherine Pooler ink colour – Deck The Halls. I use other green shades of CP inks to see how this new colour will work with the other colours. Fun Forest stamp set seems like a good choice for stamping the green shades of ink. The video process can be seen here on YouTube.
This is a great stamp set that can be used all year round. Just by changing the colours of ink, you can make Autumn cards like this shaker card tutorial. Or whimsical magical forest cards with the softer shades in the Spring Fling collection.
Two step stamping
First, I die cut the frame from the Essential slimline die. Then I die cut as many trees as I can from one sheet of Bristol smooth card. The colours I use for the solid stamping are Lime Rickey, Mint To Be, Sage, Eucalyptus and Green Tea.
Each of the trees has a different pattern in the detail line stamp. I use Deck The Halls for this stamping. Stamp the sentiment from Fun Forest with the same Deck The Halls ink pad.
Slimline forest
Arrange all the trees on the slimline panel, starting at the back of the forest and working forward. The trees are adhered to each other and not the panel. Once all the trees are in a pleasing mix of shape and colour I place purple tape over them.
Lifting all the trees at once and covering the back with Scor tape. Then turning the trees over and adhering to the slimline die cut panel. Trim off the excess trees overhanging the panel to leave a straight edge (the Essential frame die gives a scallop frame).
Coloured case base
The Essential frame die is slightly smaller than a standard slimline card base. I created a card base and inked the front with Deck The Halls to make a coloured border that will match the sentiment and tree stamping. Adhere the panel to the card base leaving a small border on all four sides.
Did you manage to get the ink pad colours – Deck The Halls and Cranberry Fizz? The colours are freshly restocked.
