Critters coloured on kraft slimline card by Tasha

Hey crafty people! Tasha here again with your weekly dose of inspiration and my natural, bubbly charm! ?

Critter-On-Kraft-1

This week I decided to play around with some Neenah Desert Storm, Environmental card stock to see how my copics worked on it and I just had to pull put the adorable Bunny Burrow stamps & dies because I am a teensy bit obsessed with them!! They are just SO CUTE!! ?

Colouring on kraft

I grabbed mainly the same colours as I did last time I Copic coloured them, but you can see the huge difference that the kraft cardstock has on them, compared with the white.

I think that the colours are much more muted on this, but it is definitely both fun and just the right amount of challenging to keep my interest!

Once I had finished colouring them, I cut them using the matching dies. I did have a few extra pieces, including the burrow itself, but I just couldn’t fit them into my design so they’re in my little tub of leftover bits, to be used in a future project.

Die cut frame

I cut these Polaroid frames out using a die from my stash and I coloured each of the background pieces in a quick, simple blue ombre to give my critters a background.

I chose to add the critters partially breaking free from the ‘photos’ because I like the interest and depth that brings to the design, especially when I’m not actually adding any dimensional foam adhesive.

Stencilling

I cut a slimline card base, 8.5in x 3.5in, from some pale green cardstock out of my stash, and added some ink blending to it using a stencil from my stash.

Sentiment

Once I added my images I needed to fit a sentiment in, and this is where I struggled!  I’m trying to build up my stash of birthday cards, but I’ve realised that I don’t actually have that many birthday sentiments; or at least that much of a variety of them. I used the little one from an Avery Elle set that we used to carry at the Tree, but I don’t really like it there; alas I had already stamped it, so I pressed on!!

I added a few Nuvo Glitter Drops as a cute little embellishment and I was done!

I’m sure you’ll be very relieved to know that I found the perfect stamp set to solve my lack of birthday sentiment choice! The ‘Happy Birthday Many Ways‘ stamp set from Catherine Pooler is on its merry way to my craft room to save me!! So I might change up the sentiment on this when I get my new set.
