Welcome back to the mini-series. Paradise Found is a deep rich highly saturated collection of eight deep earthy ink colours in the Spa family.
You can find out more about the ink colours and what makes them different from other inks at this blog post, and find the other posts in this mini-series here.
The Spa Collection by Catherine Pooler has three collections of ink pads. Zen Garden, Paradise Found and Urban Oasis. Each collection of ink colours are available individually as full-size ink pads and refills, and Paradise Found has just been released as mini collections of 8 mini ink pads.
I will continue this mini-series on ink blending with CP inks for each collection of colours. When I have all these swatches with each collection individually, I will then have a good visual to see which colours from other collections will blend well together.
Three Colour Blends
I lay out the eight Paradise Found inks on my desk in rainbow order and picked three that were next to each other to blend together. The card I use is Bristol Vellum trimmed to 4.5” x 2” and I use the Life-Changing Blending Brushes for the blending. One brush for each colour.
Yellow – Blue Blends
Sauna, Green Tea and Eucalyptus
Green Tea, Eucalyptus and Daydream
Eucalyptus, Daydream and Juniper Mist
Yellow – Purple Blends
Sauna, Mandarin Spice and Peppermint Scrub
Mandarin Spice, Peppermint Scrub and Royal Treatment
Peppermint Scrub, Royal Treatment and Juniper Mist
Daydream, Juniper Mist & Royal Treatment
(The last two colour blends would be good for dark night skies. Maybe with bright white heat embossed stars or snowflakes.
Two Colour Blends
I tried some two colour blends just using the primary colours – Sauna, Juniper Mist and Peppermint Scrub.
The Sauna and Juniper Mist made a murky green colour. I tried Daydream and Sauna and have a brighter green mix – which is close to the Eucalyptus colour.
Cleaning Brushes
The main point of this mini-series is seeing which colours will blend well together. Another bonus is seeing which ink pads need refilling. I go into more detail about how I use the Blending Brush Scrubber in the first post in this series which features the Spring Fling colours.
Leave a comment if you would like these ink blend swatches all together as an A4 printable. I will have one more post in this mini-series soon featuring the Urban Oasis ink colour blends.
