Welcome back to the second in this mini series. Life Of The Party is a vibrant highly saturated collection of eight ink colours. Although I do use Rockin Red from the Foundation collection to try some other two colour combinations to make a purple
You can find out more about the ink colours and what makes them different from other inks at this blog post, and find the other posts in this mini series here.
The Party Collection by Catherine Pooler has four collections of ink pads. Foundation (set of 4 colours), Life Of The Party, Spring Fling and Carnival (set of 8 colours). Each collection of ink colours are available individually as full-size ink pads and refills, and as mini collections of 8 mini ink pads (4 mini ink pads for Foundation).
I will continue this mini series on ink blending with CP inks for each collection of colours. When I have all these swatches with each collection individually, I will then have a good visual to see which colours from other collections will blend well together.
Three Colour Blends
Next in the Party Collection is Life Of The Party. I lay out the inks on my desk in rainbow order and picked three that were next to each other to blend together. The card I use is Bristol Vellum trimmed to 4.5” x 2” and I use the Life-Changing Blending Brushes for the blending. One brush for each colour.

Two Colour Blends
I tried some two colour blends just using the primary colours – Tiara, Tutti Frutti and Something Borrowed. I didn’t like the purple that the Tutti Frutti and Something Borrowed made. Tutti Frutti is too orange, and orange and blue will made brown.
I tried a few other shades of blue from the Party Collection with Rockin Red. When Tutti Frutti is placed next to Rockin Red you can see how orange the Tutti Frutti colour is. If you want to blend with purple you will definitely need Flirty Fuchsia.
Cleaning Brushes
The main point of this mini series is seeing which colours will blend well together. Another bonus is seeing which ink pads need refilling. I keep all my refills in their collections on a nail polish bottle holder.
I go into more detail about how I use the Blending Brush Scrubber in the first post in this series which features the Spring Fling colours.
Leave a comment if you would like these ink blend swatches all together as an A4 printable. I’ll have another post in this mini-series soon featuring more Catherine Pooler Designs ink colour blends.
