Hi, it’s Jeni with a pink Christmas Card for the WCMD Challenge Inspiration. You can enter your card HERE for a chance to win a gift voucher for The Little Paper Tree. I didn’t have any plan when I started making this card I just wanted to use the stamps and dies in the Home For The Holidays Stamp Of Approval box and pink inks!
Video Tutorial
The video tutorial also shows my bloop/craft accident and you can see how I fixed it below. The video is up on YouTube. You can see it HERE. Now onto the card…
Stamping Background
I took a piece of Catherine Pooler white card and used one of the stamps from the Cozy Borders stamp set and stamped with Party Dress, Be Mine and It’s A Girl ink colours going up the card to create an ombre look.
Diecutting
I diecut two tags from the Concord & 9thHoliday Cheer Tags die set and used a Nuvo Blending Brush and It’s A Girl ink to add some soft colour. For some more interest I stamped half the snowflake from the Tiny Wishes stamp set along one side. The sentiment is one of the bauble dies from Tiny Tags die set with a Warm Wishes stamp in Midnight ink. I adhered everything to my card panel and wanted to add some sparkle – since this is for Christmas. This is where my bloop happens.
Using Nuvo Drops
I haven’t used my bottle of Nuvo Crystal Glitter Drops in ages – and I think some glitter has dried inside the nozzle. Using a needle to try I tried to unclog it and I SHOULD have taken it to the sink and let some hot water run over the nozzle – but I didn’t. What I did was squeezed the bottle hard, and all the medium still in the bottle popped out over my scrap piece of card (Luckily my card front was fine).
I used a stylus to add the drops to the card – and my pink Christmas Card is finished!
Bonus Card
As promised on the video I have the finished glitter card here. I scrapped as much of the “paste” as I could and used a palette knife to cover another card front with the Turkish Delight stencil and let this dry overnight.
Paste Through Stencil
Because the scrap card I was using had some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide on it, I used the same colour on one of the word die cuts. I diecut two of the Merry and Bright dies and used a Nuvo Blending Sponge with Picked Raspberry on one of them. I left this to dry then adhered the white one slightly off set, then adhered them to my card.
