Starting Scrapbooking
I started my scrapbooking ‘life’ back in 2008 when living in New Zealand and, together with Jeni, went to retreats and lots of classes to learn new techniques. Recording holidays in mini albums, first making the photo album and then using photos, embellishments and journaling to keep the memories ‘alive’ in layout form in my full-sized 12×12 scrapbook albums.
Albums
I have since started making layouts of ‘special memories’ together with Project Life, One Little Word and, in December I record a December Daily album in the days leading up to Christmas Day. It is quite relaxing to step back and do something creative during the busy month of December.
Relaxing
I find it relaxing and will be continuing recording my life’s up and downs for many years to come. There is no craft shop in Guernsey selling good quality craft supplies, which we find inspirational; we have to purchase them from America or the UK. As a family of three we have been searching for a place that feels ‘home’ and on a holiday to Ireland – Galway ‘spoke’ to all of us. It has been a dream to open an online scrapbook store for about 6 years – and this dream is finally coming true in Galway, Ireland.
Favourite Brands
I love the collections in American Crafts and Elles Studio as they have exciting colours and patterns and are quite versatile, for scrapbook layouts, cards or mini albums. The collections are well created, as the embellishments are perfect to use within the same collection and even mixed with other supplies.
I find using paper crafting scrapbook supplies with exciting colours can give your projects more of a creative omphh!
